Chris Lighty Dead at 43 Possible Suicide

Violator Entertainment founder Chris Lighty has died at the premature age of 43. Sources are saying his death was a suicide, via a gunshot wound to the head. The hip hop mogul was found inside his Bronx apartment around 11:30am with a gun next to his body, but the cause of death has not been confirmed as of yet.

Chris' founded Violator Entertainment, a company that manages the careers of hip hop and R&B artists and is also a record label. Last September, Violator merged with Primary Wave to form powerhouse management company Primary Violator.

The Bronx, New York native has worked with stars such as Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, Ll Cool J, Soulja Boy, 50 Cent, and more. He was also a part of famous hip hop group Boogie Down Productions and has worked with Russell Simmons' RUSH Management. Chris was reportedly recently going through a difficult divorce with wife Veronica, may have been dealing with financial issues, including owing $5 million to the IRS, and was under a great deal of stress.

Many friends and stars who have worked with Chris are sending their prayers via Twitter. Fat Joe tweeted, "RIP CHRIS LIGHTY THE MAN SAVE MY LIFE!!!"
